Next week, November 22-24, is Econsultancy Live and the theme is the future of ecommerce. The agenda is live, so head over the event page to take a look. Even better, if you’re an Econsultancy subscriber, you can attend for free (just get in touch to request your complimentary ticket).
To whet your appetite for the event, I’ve chosen four of the sessions I’m most looking forward to at November’s event. From D2C brands like Snug to B2B businesses like Exertis, there’s a wide range of talks and topics to choose from.
Here are the ones I’ve picked out…
How Snug grew a D2C challenger brand and built a new category – with Live Q&A
10.45am, Tues November 23rd
If you missed our interview with Snug’s founder Rob Bridgman earlier this year, it’s a fascinating read that touches on some of the ways the brand is seeking to change the way we buy a sofa.
In this talk at Econsultancy Live, Bridgman will talk more about how the D2C model has enabled responsive customer service and innovative social commerce (just this month the brand hosted an IG Live event with Katherine Ryan).
Tune in to hear how Snug has grown and defined the sofa-in-a-box category.
Ecommerce 2.0: Providing ecommerce as a service
3.40pm, Tues November 23rd
Ecommerce-as-a-service (EaaS) solutions allow businesses selling online to focus on building their brand rather than having to worry about warehouses, logistics, software and even a website. The Moot Group (TMG) is one of the players seeking to grow in this pay-as-you-go space, alongside entrants such as Next and its Total Platform, and joining established players such as Ocado Solutions and Zalando.
Nick Moutter, founder of TMG – which includes designer furniture and homeware brand, Olivia’s – will discuss ecommerce experiences today and the role of EaaS.
The future of luxury ecommerce
1.20pm, Weds November 24th
Luxury was one category that was profoundly affected by the pandemic, not just through the shift away from formal wear and a drop in travel, but because luxury experiences have traditionally revolved so heavily around brick and mortar.
According to Bain, the online channel increased its sales by 50% in Luxury in 2020, nearly doubling its share to reach 23% of luxury sales globally (up from 12% in 2019).
How are luxury brands adapting to this shift, and also to a category increasingly influenced by Gen Z? This panel discussion will look at all the issues defining the future of luxury ecommerce, with Cassandra Gowing, Head of Social Media and Marketing at Radley London, and Sophie Quy, EVP Brands at Threads Styling, a chat-based personal shopping service.
Digital Shift at Econsultancy Live
9.35am, Tues November 23rd
Econsultancy’s regular quarterly webinar, Digital Shift, brought to you by Neil Perkin, will be broadcast at Econsultancy Live next week.
Perkin will tour the biggest trends in ecommerce right now, with a particular focus on tech, digital transformation and the medium term. Join him for another inspiring session.
The Econsultancy Live agenda is live, so head over the event page to take a look. Even better, if you’re an Econsultancy subscriber, you can attend for free (just get in touch to request your complimentary ticket).
Hi, will the talks be recorded? I would love to listen to all but other meetings prevent this.
Thanks
Hi Steve. Yep, they’ll be available on demand after the event.
